Non-woven fabric, also known as non-woven cloth, is composed of oriented or random fibers to form a web structure, and then reinforced by mechanical, thermal bonding or chemical methods. The main fibers used in non-woven fabric production are polypropylene (PP) and polyester (PET). In addition, there are nylon (PA), viscose fiber, acrylic, polyethylene (HDPE), and chlorine (PVC).
Weaving process
Spunlacing, a spunlacing process, involves spraying high-pressure fine water jets onto one or more layers of fiber webs, causing the fibers to entangle with each other, thereby reinforcing the web and endowing it with certain strength.
Heat-bonded, heat-bonded non-woven fabric refers to the addition of fibrous or powdered hot-melt bonding reinforcing materials into the fiber web, and then the fiber web is heated, melted, cooled and reinforced into fabric.
Pulp air-laid nonwoven fabric can also be called dust-free paper or dry-process papermaking nonwoven fabric. It uses the air flow web-forming technology to loosen the wood pulp fiberboard into a single-fiber state, and then uses the air flow method to make the fibers concentrate on the web-forming curtain. The fiber web is then reinforced into fabric.
Wet method, wet non-woven fabric is made by opening the fiber raw materials placed in a water medium into single fibers, and at the same time mixing different fiber raw materials to form a fiber suspension slurry. The suspension slurry is then conveyed to the web-forming mechanism, where the fibers form a web in a wet state and are then reinforced into fabric.
Spunbond, spunbond nonwoven fabric is made by extruding and stretching polymers to form continuous filaments, then laying the filaments into a web. The web is then transformed into nonwoven fabric through self-bonding, thermal bonding, chemical bonding or mechanical reinforcement methods.
Advantages and Uses
It is lightweight, mainly produced from polypropylene resin, with a specific gravity of only 0.9, which is only three-fifths that of cotton. It has fluffiness and a good hand feel.
Soft, composed of fine fibers (2-3D), formed by light dot hot-melt bonding. The finished product has a moderate softness and a comfortable feel
Water-repellent and breathable, polypropylene chips do not absorb water, with a moisture content of zero. The finished product has excellent water repellency. Composed of 100% fibers, it is porous and has good breathability, making it easy to keep the fabric surface dry and easy to wash.
Non-toxic and non-irritating, the product is made from FDA food-grade raw materials and contains no other chemical components. It has stable performance, is non-toxic, odorless and does not irritate the skin.
Non-woven fabric products are internationally recognized as environmentally friendly products for protecting the Earth's ecology. It is applicable to industries such as agricultural films, shoe-making, leather tanning, mattresses, quilts, decoration, chemical engineering, printing, automobiles, building materials, and furniture. It has a wide range of uses and is cost-effective.
